I'm a guy who can drink Irish Car Bombs and not feel guilty about it. God saved me at an early age, He also saved me from thinking the laughable lie that He is an angry task master who despises us when we do bad things and holds us up to an impossible standard. He didn't what it to be about "don't do this, don't do that"- He wanted us to come to Him by His gift of Faith and Grace. If you know me you'll see I flat out mess up, now I feel sorry for it, sure; yet I still manage to mess up none-the-less.
God knows that, and yet He accepts me- and it is not just a minimal acceptance- it is full blown. I am an odd sort, ecclectic and phsyco. What else... I love the Eastern Orthodox Church- and while I definitely have a disagreement or two with that Church I have been edified by my association. I love the preaching of AW Tozer, Bruce Morgan, St Iranaeus, St John Chrysostom, Fr Peter Gillquist, Fr Tom Hopko, and Dr. Renald Showers- and I gotta tell ya- there might be a few disagreements between 'em.
